Bruno Mars Announces 24K Magic World Tour

Bruno Mars recently announced an 85 date world tour kicking off early next year….

Known professionally as Bruno Mars, Peter Gene Hernandez was born in 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is a singer, writer, instrumentalist, producer and choreographer based in the U.S.

Owing to his family’s diverse musical background, Mars began creating music very early on and would perform at many venues in his hometown while growing up. After High School graduation, he went to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music.

Luke Bryan Announces 2016 Tour

Luke Bryan announced a new tour for North America next year in support of his latest album, "Kill The Lights". The 39 year old Country megastar is currently on his "Kick Up The Dust" tour which is scheduled to end late October of this year, and somehow found time to record and have released his newest work. The "Kill The Lights" album, his fifth studio album, was released in August and was an immediate hit debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, his third consecutive album to do so. His track "Strip It Down is his 14th No.1 hit and expect more top hits from this album to follow. Luke Bryan, the reigning CMA Entertainer of The Year and two-time Academy of Country Entertainer of The Year is expected to perform on the CMA Awards on November 4th also.
                               The tour itself is 21 cities over 22 dates and starts in Evansville, Indiana on February 18th and finishes up in the middle of May. However, if this tour is nearly as successful as the current "Kick Up The Dust" tour is, and you can believe it probably will be, expect more dates to be added. I'm betting on it.
                              Grammy Award Winning band, Little Big Town, and Dustin Lynch, of "Cowboys and Angels" fame, will tour with Luke on most dates.

Main Entrance Tickets Won't Promote Ariana Grande

Dear Friends and Ariana Grande fans.
                  We here at Main Entrance Tickets don't normally get involved with politically charged topics as a rule. We don't feel it necessary to get up on a soapbox and champion for any specific cause or social event not because we don't have an opinion or care for such matters, but because we are in the entertainment industry and don't feel compelled to express any such opines, especially when not solicited to do so. We do believe in promoting equality by demonstrating an understanding that all people and groups are valuable to society regardless of race, culture, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. That's a given. We feel this is not the proper forum to discuss other subjects such as gun control, immigration laws, presidential hopefuls, state flags, foreign policies, global warming, or even the price of beef, just to name a few. It's just not a good business model and it's simply not up for discussion if we want to stay in business. And we do. After all, you're not here to discuss current events anyways. You're looking for entertainment value and much of the reason we all covet live entertainment is to not think about the aforementioned issues for a particular length of time. Even if it's just for a little while.
                                         However, the one subject that's difficult to remain silent on is when one of the entertainers, artists, or sports figure we help promote, publicly bad mouths our great country, The United States of America. Recently. Miss Grande did just that in a doughnut shop while with some friends and evidently she doesn't understand that because of our Founding Fathers and everyone who has served, been wounded, or died for our country since, she has that freedom to voice her misguided opinion. And to make tons of money. Alas, Grande's PR people are already in damage control mode, and we can only hope that she takes moral inventory herself and comes to grip with the reality of how embarrassing and shameful her behavior was. Her attempt at an apology only sounded if she was sorry a camera actually caught her.
                                          Grande's certainly not the first entertainer to bash America and she wont be the last. The  Entertainment industry has been strife with Anti-Americanism from alleged  "communist party supporters" in Hollywood during the '40's and '50's. to anti war protesters in the '60's right up to certain current filmmakers today. The list is numerous and ever growing and the entire subject itself is way beyond the scope of this particular blog and again, that's not why you're really here so I won't prolong this paragraph.
                                           But Grande's faux pas was a little concerning not only because of the intonation of the blurted phrase or phrases if it were, but because I really don't believe she realizes how lucky of a girl she is to live here in America. I almost feel sorry for her. Almost. If you were to do a web search on her, you'll see it's evident she's a talented and beautiful young lady. And perhaps a bit spoiled. I do hope Ariana doesn't get bored with the terrible life she has like so many talented child stars in the past have. After all, being in the spotlight is the only way of life they've known and teenage angst has been building and the early twenty's are usually the age where the prodigy wants to come of age on their own terms. They can't take the tough and rigorous schedule! They can't take being told what to do all the time! Or pose for magazine covers! Or do TV commercials! It just comes to a head like a giant teenager zit right in the middle of the forehead on prom night, then POW! It explodes and the next thing you know, you're licking and spitting on donuts. And saying you hate America and hate Americans. Say what? I know of popular child stars through the years that have run off to get married on a whim after a one nighter. Some go and get all inked up. Some throw eggs. Some stick out their tongues. Some flip birds at people. Some divorce their parents. Sadly, some of them resort to drugs or suffer even a worse fate. But not once have I heard of any of these prodigies say they hate America or Americans.
                                       We at Main Entrance Tickets want to express our rights as well. We choose not to endorse, promote or even sell any Ariana Grande concert tickets for the time being. Just as a show of support for Lady Liberty, if nothing else. Any search for Ariana Grande that points to Main Entrance Tickets will be redirected to this blog. Again, just for the time being. We'd like to be clear and make it understood that we don't dislike Ariana Grande. We just dislike her lack of diplomacy and lapse of judgment. This will blow over soon and Ariana won't lose many of her 30 million twitter followers. In fact she may even gain followers. Remember, sometimes even bad publicity is still publicity. No, we're not the big boys and this certainly wont ruffle any feathers, as that is not our intent anyhow. And we don't stand to lose much money either, if any at all.  We just need to remind ourselves that we love to support the country we live in, how grateful we are to live here, and to promote an issue that is worthy of standing on a soapbox for. The United States of America. God Bless America.

Grace Potter: It Was Bound To Happen

                                                               
Grace Potter Goes Solo.
   It was bound to happen. Sooner or later it was bound to happen. We just didn't want to think so. Grace Potter announces a solo album release and solo dates to tour. As humble as Grace appears to be, she just outgrew the band that has backed her since the beginning. It was bound to happen. Potter fans are abuzz with the recent news and not everybody is happy. But what about that band? At this writing, nobody really knows. We do know that the Nocturnals' lead guitarist, Scott Tournet, has posted on his social pages that he will not be joining Grace for her solo dates. My understanding is the rest of the band is staying on, but still the touring dates are listed as just Grace Potter. Grace's new recording titled "Midnight", is due to be released mid-August and the first track of that album, "Alive Tonight" is currently out and it differs from anything Grace and the band had previously released before. Grace has  recently mentioned that it started out as a GPN record but kinda morphed into a solo project.
            So is this the end of the Noc's? Is this the beginning of a new style for Grace? Sadly, yes to both, I think it is. Conversely, it may lead to be a great thing. For her. I mentioned earlier that Grace has outgrown the band. well. I think she has. After years of incessant touring, sometimes more than 150 dates a year, the benefits of doing so are coming to fruition and she seems to be everywhere.   She's become too popular for the rest of the band. She's at the point where its evident that the band is just that. A band, and she would succeed with or without the Noc crew. Personally, I wouldn't want to see that because I really think the entire group as an ensemble is fantastic. I love the fact that they're not a manufactured band just out to make noise but a true indie band who self produced their earlier stuff and worked their tails off to get noticed.
          I haven't heard any of the album yet, but if the new song is any indication of what to expect, I would be led to believe that Grace has stepped into, or wants to step into, Diva-Dom. The fact is, she probably couldn't stop it from happening if she wanted to. It was bound to happen.  But Grace does have to tread carefully. The industry is chock full of beautiful women with powerful marketable appeal. Legs-up-to-your-neck can only take you so far. Beyonce is gorgeous. Katy Perry is beautiful. J- Lo is just is absolutely stunning. But I don't have even one of their songs in my library. And If the rest of Grace's new album is akin to "Alive Tonight", I wont have any more of Graces songs either. All of the GPN previous recordings are favorites of mine and I handed out dozens and dozens of homemade CD's to friends and strangers alike to turn people on to what I thought was the freshest new talent in a long time. And I include the Nocturnals.
           Bands break up all the time and members are always leaving for various reasons and such. It's not fair to speculate on what happened with Scott Tournet, but one can only assume he wasn't on board with the change. In years past, the biggest obstacle for GPN to overcome, in my opinion, was the fact that they didn't fit into any one genre. I know, I know. No artist should have to be labeled or defined into any one category or genre and it upsets Grace when people say that. Talent is talent and music is music. I get it. And Grace has talent. The previous GPN recordings have touched on a few different styles of music and tended to weave different styles both from album to album, and from songs within album. Choral, blues, soul, rock, ballads, country. Whenever I handed out those aforementioned CD's, the people I was giving them to would ask me "What kind of music do they play?" It got to the point where I would say, " who cares, shut up and listen". But as us fans know, whatever she does, she shines. As do the Nocturnals. But this 106 beats per minute style is just another example of what I'm talking about. Its also exactly the reason we loved Grace so much, because she DIDN"T play or write that style of music. So if this is indeed the case, she may gain more notoriety with a new breed of fans, but she may also alienate the truest of GPN fans that believe in what she does now. It's almost like she doesn't know where she wants to go professionally. That scares me as a GPN fan.
          So let's be fair here. Every other Noc's member has had solo projects or still has solo projects going on and Grace certainly deserves to have one also. Nobody's holding her back here. Just about every successful artist or superstar any of us can think of has started with a band  previously in their career.  Grace has an incredible stage presence and is extremely charismatic and her vocals have warmed our souls and rocked our world and she will still do well whether with the Nocturnals or not. It was bound to happen.
         

An Open Letter To Van Halen.......

Dear Van Halen,
         As a life long fan of the band, I ask of you, please make this work. I mean the new live album, the remastered editions of your debut and 1984 albums, the  health issues, and especially the 2015 tour just recently announced. Just please make it all work. I can literally sit for hours and write about the disappointment I've endured over the years hearing and reading about the boneheaded arguments,silly publicity stunts,and endless lineup change debacles that have plagued you fellows. All of you. I've grown so tired of it I stopped buying. Yes, you've read it correctly. I stopped buying. Years ago, actually. I think 'For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge'  was the last Van Halen music I had spent money on. Or maybe it was 'Balance'. But I do remember it was at that point of the band's career where even more rumors about the current lineup at the time weren't getting along any longer. Again. I can understand that David Lee Roth has worn out his welcome in the mid '80's, being the attention whore that he was (is?). Finding a frontman to replace DLR couldn't possibly be easy. Let's face it, like him or loathe him, DLR was the ultimate showman and replacing him would be a challenge. And by all accounts, it was. But then came the media reports that Sammy Hagar would join your band. I think, even now, the Sammy Hagar addition was brilliant. There was no way that you could replace DLR and be successful, but all of us were proven wrong. At least as far as sales were concerned.
            It was around this time, shortly after 'Balance', the media reports have tensions between you VH brothers and Sammy escalating to the point where the band's looking to replace Sammy. Sometime in mid 1996 Sammy did leave. Sammy said he was fired, You said he quit. Whatever. Also. if memory serves me correctly, about the same time,  Michael Anthony rumors abound about HIM leaving. These rumors persisted for years and Michael Anthony states in recent interviews that he hasn't spoken to you since 2005. And we know who the bass player for you is now. Hmmmm. No disrespect to Wolfie, but Michael Anthony's bass and his background vocals will forever remain a big part of VH's sound. Yes Eddie. your guitar mastery and unique sounds that emanates from such are unmatched by any living being, but the original VH sound with the original line up, including Michal Anthony's background tenor is unreplicable. And yet, we move on.
           So for a few years, we have read about the ill-fated reunions, with both Diamond Dave and Sammy. And finally a 2012 tour with DLR. We stuck by your side, Eddie, with the cancer scare, the seemingly endless re-hab visits and we will certainly always wish you well with your health concerns. We may even get used to Wolfgang.  But you have a chance now to cement Van Halen's legacy and to be forever remembered in a positive light in the fan's eyes. All the fans. Van Roth, Van Hagar, Van Wolfie, whatever. Time heals all wounds and now is the time to be the leader and as the band's namesake, you need to be the leader. I said leader, not boss. Only you really know whats gone on behind the scenes all these years and I can only hope that DLR himself grows up and understands that this is his salvation and he needs you as much as you need him. But I can say, from the fan's viewpoint, Hagar and Anthony are friends, Roth and Anthony get along, and Hagar and Roth even tolerate each other. So if you're not part of the solution, maybe you're part of the problem. Just sayin'.
        This tour needs to be successful on every level. Egos need to be left outside the arena and out of the backstage scene and onstage lights. Believe me when I say the new album's success depends on the success of the tour, not the other way around. But you knew that. Good word spreads fast. So does the bad. The "A Different Kind of Truth" tour in 2012 was deemed a success but a lot of us don't agree. I know health problems arose and sources said  band members were even getting along. But the fact remains, dates were postponed, then outright cancelled. Can't happen this time around. Stay healthy and stay sober. You need to make this work. To paraphrase Grace Potter and The Nocturnals from their 2007 song 'Falling or Flying', "So friends, this too shall pass, so play every show like it's your last".  That's what it may take, but please, make it work.
