Mars recently announced an 85 date world tour kicking off early next year….
Known
professionally as Bruno Mars, Peter Gene Hernandez was born in 1985 in
Honolulu, Hawaii. He is a singer, writer, instrumentalist, producer and choreographer
based in the U.S.
Owing to
his family’s diverse musical background, Mars began creating music very early
on and would perform at many venues in his hometown while growing up. After
High School graduation, he went to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music.
He was
signed, then soon dropped by the prestigious ‘Motown Records.’ He later signed
a contract with Atlantic Records.
He released
his first solo album ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans’ in 2010. This album included
the hit singles ‘Just the Way You Are’ and ‘Grenade.’ Both were included in the
Billboard Hot 100. Another single from the same album, ‘The Lazy Song’ made it
to number 4.
Bruno
Mars collaborated with Mark Ronsons in 2014 for ‘Uptown Funk.’ His third studio
album was released in 2016. It was entitled ‘24k Magic.’
Bruno
Mars has sold more than a 100 million singles and albums around the globe. This
already renders him as one of the top selling artists of all time. Six of his
albums have been Billboard Hot 100 number ones. His first five albums have
become number ones faster than any other male artist since Elvis Presley.
Bruno Mars is the recipient
of several nominations and awards including 4 Grammies. In 2011, he was part of
the Time magazine’s 100 most influential people. In 2013, he was part of Forbes
list of thirty people under 30.
Bruno Mars’ last concert tour was entitled
‘Moonshine Jungle Tour’ in support of the artist’s second studio album,
‘Unorthodox Jukebox.' It started in June of 2013, and ended in October 2014,
154 shows and 156.4 million dollars later.
His upcoming tour is entitled 24K Magic World
Tour. It will support his fourth studio album, ‘24K Magic.’ The massive 85 date
tour will begin in March 2017 in Antwerp, Belgium with the North American Leg
